Event: 4th Annual Jim Simmerman Poetry Prize winners
Selected by award winning poet, Jean Rukkila, winners from the annual Simmerman Poetry Prize for local high school students will read their work.
The Jim Simmerman Poetry Prize for Poets of Flagstaff District High Schools is made possible by a generous donation from Kim Holland and the Authors In Schools program she founded. Jim Simmerman was a nationally renowned poet and Regents Professor at Northern Arizona University. He often times volunteered to teach poetry workshops in local high schools over the course of his long career.

Event: Poetry Reading by Northern Arizona High School Students
Students from Flagstaff Unified School District, Winslow, Seligman, and Window Rock High Schools will read their latest work.

Event: Reading by One Book Arizona Winner Jana Bommersbach and by novelist Margaret Erhart
Sponsored by One Book Arizona, their 2010 Award Winner, Jana Bommersbach (author of The Trunk Murderess: Winnie Ruth Judd) will read from her award winning work. Winner of the Milkweed National Fiction Prize, Margaret Erhart (author of The Butterflies of Grand Canyon) will read her latest work.

Event: An Evening with Lisa Schnebly Heidinger and Rick Bass
Journalist, author and documentary film maker, Lisa Schnebly Heidinger (author of Chief Yellow Horse Lives On: And Other Stories of Arizona People and Placesi) reads from her latest work. Nationally Acclaimed writer and author of dozens of books, Rick Bass (author of The Blue Horse: A Novella) reads from his latest work.
